Django is of the stuff that legends are made of! A French born Gypsy playing jazz on an odd-shaped European made guitar (that, actually, wasn't even an archtop!). He only had two working fingers on his left hand (a the result of a caravan fire) and couldn't read a note of music... Interesting that more than 50 years after his passing jazz historians would argue that he was the single non-American influence on the development of Jazz, this major American cultural contribution to the rest of the world.
We hope you enjoy this rare performance footage.
